Let's Review Stargate with Layla and You por Layla

Notas del episodio

Some Stargate SG-1 episodes are easy to love. “Emancipation” is not one of them.

In this review, I talk about how Carter is thrown into a world where women are treated as property, their safety is negotiable, and violence against them is simply part of the social order. It also becomes very clear that some of the men on SG-1 still have their own blind spots to work through. I also take a closer look at the episode’s more troubling narratives around disability, and why those writing choices still matter today.

This was not an easy rewatch, but definitely a revealing one, and one that gives us plenty to talk about.
