Kansas is gearing up for one of the warmest stretches we've seen this early in March. Today? Pure sunshine statewide. Down in Wichita, you're climbing to 69 degrees. Kansas City hits 68. Out west in Dodge City, you top out at 72 — warmest spot in the state. Southwest winds gust to 24 miles an hour this afternoon, especially across the south. Tonight stays mild, dropping to the upper 30s west and mid-to-upper 40s elsewhere. Now here's where it gets wild. Monday brings near-record heat. Highs push into the upper 70s statewide — some spots flirt with 80 degrees. That's 29 degrees above normal for early March.
