Regarded as a celebrity academic by the I Love My HBCU? podcast, Dr. Korie Grayson is a STEM professional modeling the passion to be found in sciences for Black female college students. “You have to have a life outside of your lab,” says Korie and does she?! Dr. Grayson credits her HBCU for the foundation of who she is today: a scientist and an advocate. Attending Norfolk State University for Korie meant that she was surrounded by people who knew as a Black child the opportunities, but also the hardships they would go through once they left, which greatly made a difference in the approach. They emboldened in her a confidence that has ushered her into every space she occupied thereafter.
