Born and raised in New Britain, Connecticut, Dr. Edwards has dedicated his career to advancing education and leadership development. He has worked extensively with K-12 schools, taught at the collegiate level, and founded the Rory T. Edwards Group, a platform for empowering leaders and communities.

As President of the New Britain NAACP for 11 years, Dr. Edwards championed youth mentorship, led policy advocacy efforts, and represented Connecticut at the U.S. Congress Summit on Policy-Based Dialogue for African American leaders.

During President Obama's administration, Dr. Edwards' "Once a Man, Twice a Child" Academy earned him the opportunity to collaborate with developers of the My Brother's Keeper initiative.
