Peace in a Troubled World

Text: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” — John 16:33

When the Bible speaks of peace, it is more than the mere absence of conflict. Biblical peace (the Hebrew shalom and Greek eirēnē) carries the idea of wholeness, harmony, and settled rest. It is the calm assurance that comes from being rightly related to God.
