Hi Friends! I am so happy to introduce to you Matt Newlands, this weeks wonderful guest! Matt and I crossed paths on LinkedIn and I am incredibly pleased to be able to bring you HIS story. In 2015, after 10 years as a Police Officer with SA Police he was diagnosed with severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Depression. He was battling constant suicidal thoughts and was engaging in extreme risk-taking behaviour. This behaviour led to his arrest at work, the termination of his employment and a criminal conviction. Obviously this was very difficult to deal with especially as his job had become such an integral part of his identity.Matt candidly talks to me about two seperate occasions on which suicide was very much an option for him.
