Join your host, Kirby Clark Ellis, for a conversation with Laura Allen. Laura Allen is the President of Sales & Marketing at CryoDerm, a family-owned company located in Margate, FL that makes plant-based Pain Relief and Therapeutic Massage products. She is also on the team of CryoDerm Educators. A graduate of Shaw University and The Whole You School of Massage Therapy, Allen began her studies of bodywork in 1993 and has been a licensed massage therapist since 1999. From 1998-2003, she was the administrator and an instructor at The Whole You. From 2003-2016, she owned a multi-disciplinary clinic offering chiropractic, massage therapy, acupuncture, esthetics, naturopathy, and nutritional counseling. Allen has been an Approved Provider of Continuing Education under the NCBTMB since 2002, offering classes in professional ethics, research literacy, business and marketing, massage therapy techniques, and training for those who want to be instructors of massage therapy. She has taught classes all over the US, in Canada, and Europe. She lives in Western North Carolina with her husband James and their two rescue dogs.

Join your host, Kirby Clark Ellis for a discussion with Pete Whitridge! Pete Whitridge has been a licensed massage therapist since 1988. He teaches his Myofascial Components of Pain workshops, Florida required courses, business building classes, and research literacy courses throughout the country. Pete completed his four-year term on the Florida Board of Massage Therapy, serving two years as Chairman. Pete has been a faculty member at massage schools throughout the nation; including in Gainesville, FL, Melbourne, FL, Costa Rica, Des Moines, IA, and Asheville, NC. He is a frequent speaker for AMTA and FSMTA chapter meetings as well as National Conventions for AMTA, FSMTA, and FCA. Pete has received multiple awards for his service to the profession (2004 and 2016). Pete is a founder and past president of the Alliance For Massage Therapy Education (AFMTE). He has dedicated his career to helping establish high standards in massage therapy education. He currently serves on the Probable Cause Committee (PCC) for the Florida Board of Massage Therapy. Pete also is an Accreditation Team Leader for the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA). Pete currently lives in Fort Pierce, Florida with his wife (and editor), Lee. They travel frequently and Pete is available to provide classes in your area.

Sandy has also authored other massage therapy related textbooks and articles. Sandy is an active member on the executive committee for the International Consortium on Manual Therapies, a science-based interdisciplinary research community for practitioners and researchers. An ongoing passion for Sandy is the evolving future of massage therapy.

David Lauterstein is a distinguished collaborator, instructor, and author in the bodywork profession, having presented workshops for therapists and teachers since 1982 throughout the U.S. and the U.K. With an illustrious background in music composition, philosophy, and social action, David is a prominent international spokesman for the union of art and science in massage and bodywork. David is Co-Director of Lauterstein-Conway Massage School in Austin, Texas. Author of numerous articles and 5 books- including, “The Deep Massage Book”, “Life In The Bones: A Biography of Dr. Fritz Smith and Zero Balancing", and co-authoring “The Memory Palace of Bones”. He is also a 2011 Inductee into the Massage Therapy Hall of Fame with the World Massage Festival, has been honored as AMTA’s Jerome Perlinski Teacher of the Year in 2012 and as the 2013 Educator of the Year by the AFMTE.

Join your host, Kirby Clark Ellis for a discussion with Benny Vaughn. In their 2000, Millennium issue, Massage Magazine recognized Benny Vaughn as one of the 50 most influential professionals of hands-on, soft-tissue therapy, over the past 100 years. He is a graduate of the University of Florida, with a degree in Health Education. He is a Board-Certified Athletic Trainer as well as a Board-Certified Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork practitioner. He holds a Texas and Florida massage therapy license. Benny began his career in sports massage therapy in Gainesville, Florida in 1975. Benny has 50 years of massage therapy experience treating athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and active adults; he is known internationally as an expert in the assessment, treatment and care of athletic related soft-tissue dysfunction using manual techniques. He has lectured for wellness and therapy conferences throughout the US and internationally, including: Australia, Ireland, Japan, Spain, and Russia. Mr. Vaughn served as Medical Liaison at Olympic Stadium during the 1996 Summer Olympics and was a full-time member of the medical planning staff of the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games, serving as a Program Manager for Athlete Medical Services. As well as returning for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece; the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China; the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, England and Benny was a member of the USA Medical Staff for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. In 2024 at the Paris Olympic Games, Benny served as Physiotherapist and Life Coach to a medalist in the Decathlon. Benny was also a member of the Sports Medicine staff for USA Track and Field for the 2003 World Championships in Paris; again in 2007 in Osaka; 2009 in Berlin, and returning for 2013 in Moscow. As well as the 2010 Indoor World Championships in Qatar as well as the 2012 IWC in Istanbul. Benny Vaughn has received numerous awards of achievement and recognition including: the 1989 AMTA National Meritorious Award, the 1996 International Achievement Award from FSMTA. In 1999 he received an Award of Excellence from the National Athletic Trainers Association for his educational video “Massage for Sports Health Care” (Human Kinetics). In 2016, Benny received the Massage Therapist of the Year Award from the Florida Chiropractic Association. In 2010, Benny Vaughn was inducted into the University of Florida, College of Health and Human Performance, Alumni Hall of Fame. This award was in recognition of his professional contribution to the promotion and well-being of others through Health Education, Athletic Training and Massage Therapy. Benny Vaughn is a Certified Life Mastery Consultant with The Brave Thinking Institute. He offers Life Coaching for individual clients and groups. As a teacher, advisor and speaker, he inspires generations after generations to achieve their dreams.

She holds a master’s degree in health education and a bachelors in athletic training. And has over 20 years of experience. Willis is the owner of Blue Skyes Massage & Wellness Center and 4 Nineteen Education & Training and is dedicated to maintaining high-quality standards of care. She is widely recognized for her commitment to client relationships and practitioner integrity. Her school, 4 Nineteen Education & Training, is a nationally accredited CEU provider for massage therapists and athletic trainers. Davonna is passionate about the health and recovery of her clients and the development of her colleagues and students. She actively advocates for the recognition of massage therapy’s healing power. She received a Certificate of Excellence from MT Banquets in 2021. Davonna has been a frequent guest on multiple podcasts, a published author, and speaker. Davonna founded the Black Massage Therapist Conference, which had its inaugural event on October 14, 2023, in Charlotte, NC, and continues annually.
