Barrick Mining will press ahead with preparations for an initial public offering of its North American gold assets, and it has named its interim head, Mark Hill, as chief executive and president.

The IPO is expected by late 2026. Barrick plans to offer around 10% to 15% of those assets to the public, while keeping a controlling stake. Analysts have estimated a valuation of around $42 billion for the North American gold assets.
