Second Chronicles 2–4 records Solomon’s preparation for the Temple, the beginning of construction, and the creation of the sacred furnishings used in worship.

Solomon understood that the Temple was not being built to glorify himself. It was being built for the name of the Lord.

He gathered workers, materials, craftsmen, gold, bronze, timber, stone, and skilled leadership.

But Solomon also understood something greater:

No building could contain the God of heaven.

The Temple would become a place where Israel worshiped, sacrificed, prayed, remembered God’s covenant, and honored His holiness.
