Every product we use passes through five hands before reaching us: a Supplier, a Manufacturer, a Distributor, a Retailer, and finally, us - the Consumer. The supplier provides the raw materials. The manufacturer turns those materials into a finished product. The distributor moves it from the factory to shops and the retailer sells it to us directly. What looks like a simple purchase is actually a long journey and we will go through it in this episode,
Everything around us was once a raw material, dug from the ground, grown in a field or extracted from nature, before a supply chain turned it into something useful. In this episode, we break down what a product really is, the difference between goods and services, and the three forms every physical product takes inside a supply chain — raw material, work in progress, and finished good.
A supply chain is never one big action, it is a series of connected steps and each step is a process.
