Notas del episodio
Dr. Lorri Sullivan of the Socio-Emotional Formation Initiative (SEFI) from the Center for Autism and Early Childhood Mental Health at Montclair State University joins podcast co-hosts Stephanie Boysen and Lori Harrje for this episode of Conscious Conversations. You are probably aware of the importance of 'sharing your calm' when people around you are behaving in challenging ways out of stress. But how can you 'share your calm' when your own stress levels leave you without much calm to share? Join us to discover techniques and resources to effectively help yourself, other adults, and the children in your care stay regulated in times of stress so you can regain and maintain the warm, loving, responsive child care environment that you enjoyed before the pandemic. Because New Jersey's SEFI team created so many resources for supporting social-emotional learning in response to Superstorm Sandy, they knew what to do and were ready to take action when the pandemic hit. Attendees are encouraged to widely share the SEFI-designed colorful infographic 'Trauma-Informed Tools for Transition' they'll receive that outlines what to expect and what to provide in responding impactfully to stress.
