What if the greatest victory was never about winning?

On the 13th of July, Norway welcomed home a football team that had not lifted the World Cup trophy. Yet something extraordinary happened. For a brief moment, an entire nation remembered that belonging is more powerful than achievement, that rowing together matters more than crossing the finish line first, and that humanity is at its strongest when we refuse to leave one another behind.

In this week's Field-Reading, I reflect on why this moment touched so many of us, what it reveals about the times we are living through, and why I believe humanity is being invited to remember something far older than competition: our capacity to trust, to cooperate, and to row together.
