If you drive through the Southwest Mixmaster in West Des Moines, get ready for some changes. Closures and intermittent lane reductions are beginning as preparation gets underway for a $146 million renovation of the interchange. The three-year project will add two flyover bridges to the Southwest Mixmaster, similar to the ones at the East Mix and near Ames.
