Led by Trina Camp and her husband Steven, the group fostered a tight-knit community with arranged marriages and a belief in reincarnation. Brooke recounts her experience growing up in this oppressive environment, where emotional and occasional physical abuse were common. Children were expected to surpass their parents and learn from their mistakes, with gratitude for the “opportunity” to do so.
