In the 1950s, long before the folk revival took over New York City, Connie was writing deeply personal, witty, and melancholic songs in her Greenwich Village apartment. Despite her immense talent, her music remained virtually unknown to the public during her lifetime. In 1974, disillusioned and seeking a fresh start, she packed her belongings into her Volkswagen Beetle, wrote a series of goodbye letters to her family, and drove away - never to be seen or heard from again.
