Folks, Mother Nature just handed us a late February gift. Step outside and you'll feel it immediately. Sunshine, mild air, and barely a whisper of wind. After the cold stretch we've been grinding through, this feels like a reward.
Here's the deal. Temperatures are running 6 to 8 degrees above normal today. Along the coast, you're hitting 44 degrees. Central and Eastern Connecticut settle around 42 degrees. Not exactly flip flop territory, but for mid February? That's a win. Winds are practically nonexistent. Just 3 to 5 miles an hour. Air quality is solid too.
If you're thinking coastal walk, the timing is perfect. Low tide hit at 6:17 this morning and comes back at 6:20 tonight. High tide peaks at just 2.3 feet around 11:51 this morning ...
