Chapters 5–8: the story shifts to England, where Mina and Lucy write letters, Lucy receives three proposals, Renfield appears in Dr. Seward’s case notes, a mysterious ship reaches Whitby, and Lucy’s sleepwalking becomes dangerous.
In Chapters 5–8 of Dracula, Bram Stoker widens the story beyond Jonathan Harker’s nightmare in Transylvania. We meet Mina Murray and Lucy Westenra through letters that show their friendship, personalities, and concerns. Lucy receives marriage proposals from Dr. John Seward, Quincey Morris, and Arthur Holmwood, choosing Arthur while remaining connected to all three men. Meanwhile, Seward records the strange behavior of Renfield, a patient whose obsession with life, blood, and consumption becomes increasingly important.
The Gothic horror then moves to Whitby. Mina stays with Lucy, notices Lucy ...
