Sylvester Boyd Jr. has spent is life living in African American, mixed race and white communities.
He has worn many hats throughout his life. A substitute teacher, motivational speaker, crew chief for American Airlines and entrepreneur. He is also a world traveler.
But, that's not all. Boyd is also an actor who has appeared in motion pictures.
His book, “The Road From Money, The Journey To Find Why—1925 to 1937,” is based on true stories told to him by relatives raised in Money, Mississippi. It incorporates the life of a young black girl and her family living during the Jim Crow era. The book also looks at inventions and music of the time. In 2017, he wrote a second book, “Chicago’s Bronzeville community – 1937 to 1955.”
His background and experiences provide him with a unique perspective on race relations.
