The Coral Castle, located in an unicorporated area of Florida was built by Edward Leedskalnin. The building is made of oolite limestone and is comprised of stones weighing several tons. The unique feature of the construction was that the stones were sculpted into various shapes including a crescent moon, tables, chairs, sundial, slab walls and a water fountain.
Leedskalnin spent more than 28 years building the structure.
Tonight, McClure will discuss his research and book pertaining to Leedskalnin and the castle. He will discuss the possibility that Leedskalnin used ancient techniques to raise and lower the heavy stones during construction.
