Jim Gourlay from AsiaLink visits us to give an update on their work, particularly the work in Uzbekistan where he has recently visited. Jim also speaks on the anointing of Jesus and how that story will be told wherever believers gather for generations to come. Many people in Asia have yet to hear that story and the wider good news of Jesus.

26 July 2026 - Starting With God: Reliable Data

We've spent the last weeks in our Starting With God series looking at how having an intimate relationship with God is of ultimate importance in our lives. But in 1 Corinthians Paul says that striving for that relationship is futile if we don't have evidence to back up our convictions. Chris looks at the "reliable data" that Paul provides to show that what we believe is actually true.

19 July 2026 - Starting With God: A Lamp to My Feet

In Psalm 119 the psalmist says that God's word is a lamp to their feet and a light to their path. In the next in our Starting with God series Chris looks at how the word of God is essential to our journey, guiding our way through the darkness of life and illuminating the true path to Jesus.

12 July 2026 - Alan & Megan Barker

This week we were privileged to be joined once again by Alan & Megan Barker, our BMS link missionaries who we support in their work in Nepal. They both share with us the latest updates on their work in that country and bring us the message for this week about what our calling is with God. Lorraine makes her debut leading the rest of our service whilst Nick leads our sung worship.

05 July 2026 - Starting With God: Through the Looking Glass

We continue our series on Starting With God with Chris this week expanding on one of the topics from last week: that at the moment we can only see the glory of God like a reflection in a mirror. There is a danger that the mirror becomes so dirty and clouded that we only see our own reflection, that we take the atheist philosophy that God is simply a reflection of our own desires. Jesus turns that thought on its head, the God beyond knowing chose to make himself known and dwells among us. We only have to choose to accept him.

28 June 2026 - Starting With God: Born Again

Throughout the New Testament it is stated that we should be born again in Christ. Continuing our Starting with God series, Chris speaks on how this is not a literal re-birth but a spiritual one. Putting to death our old sinful selves and instead living our lives moulded and guided by Jesus.

21 June 2026 - Starting With God: Heaven

The book of Revelation can be an incredibly difficult book to understand, however in the concluding chapters of John's vision it gives us a picture of God's ultimate plan: a new heaven and a new earth, free from death and suffering. Until then we will endure trials, grief and harship on this current earth. In an incredibly poignant sermon reflecting the season we are currently walking through as a church family Chris reminds us that we do this knowing that God does not abandon us to live life alone, he stands with us and experiences our all of our pain and sadness alongside us.

07 June 2026 - Starting With God: Holiness

Chris continues his series in Starting With God by this week looking at God's holiness. There are some passages in the Bible that can be very difficult to understand, some that we may even choose to ignore or turn a blind eye to. But we should not be turning away from the things that we "don't like". God defines holiness, even if we don't understand why things happen, we need to trust that his plan is perfect and put our hope in Jesus who intimately reveal's God's character to us.

31 May 2026 - Starting With God: Back to Creation

Everyone has a favourite painting, whether you're interested in art or not, a picture that you can admire and try to understand the artist's intention. Something that reveals part of their nature. How amazing would it be if you could actually meet with the artist and understand their true character and intention? Paul says in his letter to the Romans that by admiring God's handiwork in nature His eternal power and divine nature are revealed to us, but only when we converse and meet with God do we begin to understand His true nature. Chris speaks on how we should move from simply admiring the world that God has created to being in true relationship with Him, only then will He be fully revealed to us.

24 May 2026 - Pentecost 2026: When the Spirit Began to Flow

Throughout this year we've been thinking about the river of God flowing from the temple in Ezekiel's vision. Well, Pentecost was day 1 of that prophecy coming true. The Spirit came in power on the disciples in the upper room and flowed out through them into the people of Jerusalem. Chris reminds us that we are called to be continually filled with the God's Holy Spirit and let the Spirit flow through us and into our communities today, just as he did all those centuries ago.
