Should I go no contact with my sibling? Ali-John has created a visual that helps assess this difficult question by measuring the health of the sibling relationship. By plotting coordinates, siblings can see exactly where their relationship falls in this four-quadrant graph. The horizontal line runs from humanization to dehumanization -- much of which is communicated nonverbally. The vertical line assesses feelings that run from belonging to alienation. The graph serves as a clear visual, quantifying and clarifying whether it is necessary to go no-contact. Of course, this graph doesn't account for some unquantifiable factors, such as family pressures. In this episode, Fern and Ali-John explore this useful tool and the factors it can and cannot address.
