This episode is about the root of environmental racism, what it looks like in America and overseas, and where it started. My interviewee, Simran (Simmy) gives her insights, personal experiences and supports my questions with analytical and sociological view points. We mention a few sources like "Assata: An autobiography" by Assata Shakur, "The Heart Of Darkness" by Joseph Conrad, and " "Structural Racism As Environmental Justice Issue" by Camila H Alvarez . A special case mentioned is the ongoing David Burke case in relation to environmental racism concerning underprivileged girls. Racism, chattel-slavery, post colonial struggles, lack of care in low income neighborhoods are the cornerstone of the matter.
