SpaceX has agreed to acquire Anysphere, the company behind the Cursor AI coding platform, for $60 billion in an all-stock deal. The transaction follows SpaceX’s Nasdaq debut and strengthens its position in enterprise artificial intelligence through xAI integration.
Cursor has reached roughly $2.6 billion in annualised business-to-business revenue. SpaceX plans to integrate an xAI model into Cursor while developing Grok Build, its coding agent. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026.
AI coding is now becoming a core battleground for developers, cloud providers and enterprise software platforms.
