In episode three, we widen our scope by exploring how images and narratives impact our children. Author and Publisher, Tiffany Obeng, and Dr. Rowe discuss opinions about hair discrimination and bias in K-12 schools and the implications for Black boys and girls who are often targeted. In particular, Tiffany shares a personal story with her son and his hair that launched her career to publishing over 20 titles that focus on self-esteem, social-emotional learning, future careers and much more. She also offers advice to aspiring authors who are interested in writing children's books, including her a journal to assist during the creativity and execution process of writing.
