In John 6, Jesus uses the miracle of feeding thousands as a launching point for one of the most comforting teachings in all of Scripture. After satisfying a crowd with five loaves and two fish, He contrasts Himself with ordinary bread. Regular bread satisfies temporarily, but Jesus, the true bread, offers something permanent. That contrast becomes the foundation for understanding what it means for a believer's salvation to be truly secure.
