Crowns. Castles. Thrones. Power. There are many ideas that come to mind when we think about kings. The birth of Jesus, the long-awaited Messiah and King, didn’t match any of these ideas about royalty. The same is true today. As many will honor or at least commemorate the birth of Jesus with Christmas celebrations, could it be that we are honoring our own ideas and expectations of Jesus rather than who the Bible reveals Him to be. In our sermon series ‘Let Earth Receive Her King,’ we see in the Gospel of Mark who Jesus is and how to align our hearts to ‘Prepare Him Room’ and ‘Receive our King.’
