Negotiation is a fundamental human activity, and mastering negotiation dialogue in English is one of the highest-value communication skills a language learner can develop. Whether discussing a raise with an employer, settling a dispute with a landlord, negotiating a car price, or persuading a city council to approve a community proposal, the ability to negotiate effectively in English opens doors that grammar alone never could.
Persuasion, the close cousin of negotiation, operates through a combination of logical argument, emotional appeal, and credibility.
