Well, maybe not as old as time, but it's old. Who knew that the origins of Beauty and the Beast go back to Ancient Rome? We certainly didn't! Though, if we're being honest, we don't go into this too much in this episode.
Instead, we've cast our minds back to the aristocratic salons of 17th century France, and explore the version of La Belle et la Bête written by the female author, Gabrielle-Suzanne de Villeneuve. This one reads like an entertaining telenovela, so enjoy!
