While training to become an occupational therapist, April Garcia did an entire school project on ADHD, building a strategy for kids who couldn't get ready for school on time no matter how hard they tried. Nine years later, she found out she had ADHD herself, and almost nobody around her was surprised...except for April herself.

April is the author of The Room to Be Brave, a memoir that uses the metaphor of rooms in a house to walk through the parts of her past that shaped her.
