Once Again

by Jason LaNunziata
Season 2
Ashley's Birthday Smutactular!
Explicit
Hello listeners! We're back! Sorry for taking some unannounced time off but we're back with some new episodes. And what better way to celebrate than with an episode dedicated to both Ashley's birthday and smut writing! While we briefly discuss a few short stories, the bulk of this episode focuses on Laura Thalassa's "Four Horsemen Series."
Frankenstein
Originally planned for Halloween, but now released at the end of November, this week's episode of the Once Again Podcast is covering Mary Shelley's 1818 novel, Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus. Join hosts Ashley and Jason as we discuss the plot, themes, and differences between what Shelley wrote and what Frankenstein has become in pop culture. Also, going forward, in November we will be covering novels in celebration of National Novel Writing Month or NaNoWriMo.
Halloweentown 2: Kalabar's Revenge
It has been two years since the Cromwell/Piper family saved both Halloweentown and the mortal world from the evil Kalabar. During that time, Aggie Cromwell (Debbie Reynolds) has been developing her grandchildren's magical abilities. But when Marnie Piper (Kimberly J. Brown) falls for their new, mysterious neighbor Cal (Daniel Kountz), the family must return to Halloweentown, once more, to save the day (yet again).
Mom's Got a Date with a Vampire
When the Hansen siblings, Matt (Adam O'Leary), Chelsea (Laura Vandervoort), and Taylor (Myles Jeffrey), set their mother Lynette (Caroline Rhea) on a blind date, they soon discover that they may have bit off more than they can chew. At first the charming Dimitri Denatos (Charles Shaughnessy) seemed to be a prince; but could he actually be the Prince of Darkness instead? Well no, because it's a DCOM, but this 2000's comedy has it's charm and is fun for the whole family.
The Godfather (1972)
In celebration of Jason's birthday, we are covering the greatest cinematic masterpiece (can you tell who writes these summaries?), The Godfather. What is your favorite movie?
Ahsoka (Parts Four, Five, & Six)
Continuing our coverage on the latest Star Wars Disney+ series, Ahsoka, this week. We're now more than halfway through the season and what are Ashley and Jason's thoughts about the show so far? Listen to our episode to find out.
Ahsoka (Parts One, Two, & Three)
Explicit
After a brief hiatus, the Once Again Podcast returns to discuss the first three episodes of the new Disney+ Star Wars series, Ashoka. Join hosts Ashley and Jason as we recap the episodes and give our thoughts (and hopes) for where the series is heading.
Season 1
Batman Returns (1992)
Audiences have seemingly spoken, and things do not look for Warner Bros' newest superhero movie, The Flash (2023). But before that film's release, hosts Ashley and Jason recorded this episode of the Once Again Podcast where they discuss Tim Burton's 1992 film, Batman Returns. Michael Keaton reprises his role as Batman where he must face a new threat to Gotham City in Danny DeVito's Penguin; and Bruce Wayne finds love in all the wrong places with Michelle Pfeiffer's Selina Kyle. Rounding out the cast in an underrated performance is Christopher Walken as Max Shreck; billionaire rival to Wayne, funder of the Penguin's gang, and someone who Catwoman would love to get her claws on. Join us for this year's "Christmas in July" episode (not really) as we give our thoughts and impressions of this hornier-than-you-remember-it movie.
Batman (1989)
34 years ago, today, the first blockbuster, superhero film released to theaters, Batman. Starring Michael Keaton as Batman, Kim Basinger as Vicki Vale, and Jack Nicholson as the Joker and directed by Tim Burton, the film was an instant hit and caused "Batmania" nation-wide. In 2023, Michael Keaton returns to the role for The Flash. And with Jason greatly anticipating what that movie could possibly be, he and Ashley decided to go back to where it all started for this week's episode of the Once Again Podcast. Can the movie that lead to the modern superhero movie hold up nearly 40 years later? Find out what we think in this special episode.
Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022)
Ashley’s wish came true and in this week’s episode of the Once Again Podcast, you can finally hear our opinions on 2022’s Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers. Spoiler alert: we liked it. Thirty years ago, Chip (John Mulaney) and Dale (Andy Samberg) were on top with a hit TV show; however, after a rift causes the two to go separate ways, the duo finds themselves living unfulfilled lives. But when a mutual friend goes missing, Chip and Dale team up one more time so solve this mystery.
