Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Washington Weather Podcast — it's Monday, February 23rd. You woke up to 0.22 inches of rain in your gauge. And right now it's 44 degrees with drizzle that just won't quit. But this isn't your average gray Monday.. This is the opening scene of a week-long weather saga. Here's what's happening. A low-pressure system off the coast is dumping moisture straight into Washington, but it's playing favorites. Puget Sound and South Sound? You're getting steady rain all afternoon. Highs hit 49 degrees around 1 P.M., then drop to 39 overnight. Eastern Washington? You're getting the colder, messier version. Rain flips to snow by midday, especially in the mountains.
