That gray sky at 31 degrees feels heavy, doesn't it? it's the quiet before a messy night. We've a Winter Weather Advisory up for southern Vermont until 5 A.M. Wednesday, as snow flips to a wintry mix.
In the next 24 hours. Here's the timeline. Snow arrives statewide right around 8 P.M. Tonight. Central and Northeast Vermont pick up 1 to 3 inches before midnight. Southern Vermont sees a coating to an inch before the changeover begins. Sleet and freezing rain could glaze the roads by early morning, so take it slow on the commute.
Overnight, temperatures settle in the upper 20s. But then the sun returns tomorrow. Highs climb to 41 in the south, 43 in the northeast. And 46 degrees in central Vermont. That's a solid 19 degrees warmer than usual for early March — a real taste of spring.
