Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Maryland Weather Podcast — it's Tuesday, February 24th. That wind outside? It's got teeth. We're starting at 28 degrees, but the real story is tonight — western Maryland gets slammed with snow while the rest of us watch from the sidelines. The mountains take the hit first. A Winter Weather Advisory kicks in at 10 P.M. For Garrett and western Allegheny counties. By Wednesday morning, 3 to 6 inches of wet, heavy snow piles up fast. I-68 west of Frostburg and US-219 near the Pennsylvania line turn into skating rinks. If you're heading through Deep Creek or Oakland, leave early. The snow wraps up by 10 A.M. Wednesday, but not before making a mess. Baltimore and Central Maryland stay dry today. Highs hit 36 in the city, 37 in Columbia. But that northwest wind at 13 miles an hour? It makes 7 A.M.
