Good afternoon. Georgia. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside right now and you're feeling that thick, muggy 63 degrees. Overnight rain dropped just under a tenth of an inch, but that was the warm-up act. The real show starts this afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms fire up statewide. Metro Atlanta sees the strongest action from noon to 8 P.M., peaking around 4 P.M. We hit 71 degrees by 6 P.M. Down along the coast. Savannah's flirting with history — 83 degrees around 2 P.M., just three degrees shy of the 1974 record. Thunderstorms roll in later there, 2 P.M. To 11 P.M. Eastern Georgia splits the difference at 78 degrees, storms from 2 P.M. To 9 P.M. Tonight, storms taper off by 9 P.M. Across most areas.
