The commandment becomes trapped in the personal evil of man. This happens when a person fulfills the Mitzvah for the wrong intentions, such as financial gain, or personal aggrandizement, or honor.

Eventually, all Mitzvot carry holiness that can be released by its fulfillment at a subsequent time with appropriate intent.
