Gary Pelletier is an athlete, former Maine state wrestling champion, wilderness guide, and host Nick Pelletier's father. Gary has lived a very full life, being born into a 8 sibling household and living on the farm, he became the state champion in Maine for wrestling before having his first child at 19. Having a family is what kept Gary from going to Vietnam for the war after he was drafted. He was a wilderness guide in Maine, he cycled across the USA solo, then later in life moved to Canada where he owns his own business and is currently competing in triathlons for Age Group Team Canada at 75 years of age.
