Tyme Trips

by Colin Mason

Welcome to “Tyme Trips” a podcast acid tab soaked in the purist LSD-25. Here I will document psychedelia and acid punk throughout the decades, everything carefully curated from my extensive archive of 45s, albums and CDs.

61: The Psychedelic Sunshine Pop Collection: LSD

The 2 CD set "The Get Easy! Sunshine Pop Collection" released over 20 years ago is long gone and now very expensive, if you're lucky to find one offered for sale! The second CD is way too lite and easy listening but the first CD contains some glorious harmony pure pop treats. I've curated twelve of those priceless gems and interspersed them with vintage '60s radio and promo adverts to give you a unique podcast mix experience. Order of appearance: Love concert promo The Sundowners - "Always You" Strawberry Alarm Clock - "Barefoot In Baltimore" Spanky & Our Gang - I'd Like To Get To Know You" Iron Butterfly "Heavy" LP radio advert Gordian Knot - "The Year Of The Sun" The Lennon Sisters - "Green Tambourine" Blues Magoos concert radio advert The Critters - "Mr Dieingly Sad" The Four Fuller Brothers - "Bitter Honey" Colours LP radio advert Roger Nichols & the Small Circle Of Friends - "Let's Ride" The Hobbits - "Sunny Day Girl" Dave Grusin - "California Montage" Fresca advert The Sandpipers - "Misty Roses" Larry Carlton - Don't You Care"

59: Guest Mix by Gerri Czachowski

58: The Psychedelic Record Case - Part 4

The Psychedelic Record Case - Part 4 Check out my Tyme Trips website. British radio DJ John Peel maintained a Record Box containing a small private collection of 143 singles. They were stored in a wooden box and represented some of his favourite 45s. This gave me an idea for a project of my own! So, today I bought a vintage psychedelic record case, probably manufactured in the mid to late sixties. It looks, feels and smells like it’s from another dimension (which it is). It’s only right and proper that I fill this beautiful case with appropriate psychedelic and ’60s garage 45s from my archive. My mission is to create short snappy mixes based on those records. Featured artists in order of appearance: Both sides of the incredible Painted Ship 45, The Novas, The Satyrs, The Rovin' Flames, The Night Crawlers, The Scott Bedford Four, cover stars, The Mama's and the Papa's, The Penthouse Five, The Olivers, The Painted Faces and The Others. Numbers interspersed with vintage '60s radio adverts.
