Closets full of clothes are genuinely great. Empty rooms and kitchens are terrible, they echo.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep the mic 4 to 6 inches from your mouth. Too close and you get pops; too far and you sound distant.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do a test. Record 30 seconds, listen back with headphones, adjust. Don&#8217;t record your whole episode at levels that are too quiet to fix later.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leave 3 seconds of silence at the start of every recording.
