Christine Whitmarsh who runs the podcast <a href=\"https:\/\/christine-ink.com\/your-daily-writing-habit\/\">Your Daily Writing Habit<\/a> said setting up your home recording studio in a closet is her number one tip for podcasters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s a picture of Christine&#8217;s setup:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" alt=\"home podcast setup\" class=\"lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/rss.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/home-recording-studio-setup-christine-whitmarsh-2-scaled-e1637016500360-1024x959.jpg\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As you can see from the picture above, Christine records her daily podcast in her walk-in closet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her set up includes an 18 gallon rubber bin lined with a foam mattress topper with a hole cut out in the bottom for her Blue Yeti mic. It&#8217;s a perfect booth within a booth!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-use-pillows-and-a-quiet-space\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2-use-pillows-and-a-quiet-space\"><\/span>2. Use Pillows and a Quiet Space<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Jillian van der Geest of the <a href=\"https:\/\/rmbooks.com\/think-outside-podcast\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Think Outside podcast<\/a>&nbsp;says that pillows strategically placed in a quiet space work beautifully to muffle sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She also said that having a really good microphone is critical. Don\u2019t Forget The Dog Collar! \ud83d\udc36<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>JJ DiGeronimo who runs the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/JJDiGeronimoOfficial\/videos\/career-strategies-for-women-that-work\/217524886730396\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Career Strategies for Women that Work Podcast<\/a> said that one thing that can ruin your audio regardless of your home recording studio setup is all of the little noises you forget are happening in the background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>JJ recommends removing all the background noises that you possibly can \u2026 including your dog\u2019s collar &#8211; that jingle can be quite distracting.
